ABOUT
What, if any, is the difference between history and mythology? My work abides by a conceptual metaphysics where tangible objects are the only reality. We all long for some truths. I am not as virtuous as philosophers who are able to forgo all propositional knowledge, so I hide them in objects. I call them Truth Objects.
Mythology and history are equally close to the truth.
And truth is only in the tangible object.
Lightbringer is an interdisciplinary artist currently based in Boston. She grew up in Harbin and Beijing, traveled alone to Concord Massachusetts for high school, and is finishing her BFA in Boston at Tufts University and the SMFA. She will be starting an MA in the History of Art in London in Fall 2021. She can’t stop thinking about her time in Sicily and Montreux. Her French isn’t good enough to buy bread in Paris, but she can discuss the benefits of solar panels. She works in, but not limited to drawing, dance, ceramics, architecture, film, and painting. Coming from a family of architects, Lightbringer finds herself fascinated with lines. Despite how her drawings look, she is not a patient person. Lightbringer values the benefits of traditional techniques, and thrives on its modern applications.
